Machine design

The BOHRER-typical machine design in high-quality, clear stainless steel hygienic design is fully oriented towards functionality, energy efficiency, durability, as well as ease of cleaning and operation. The production on precision CNC laser cutting, punching and bending machines, as well as the construction of control cabinets and programming, is carried out 100 percent independently in-house. 

Intelligent machine control

Our machine control for machine parameters and automatic function settings with interfaces for production data acquisition (PDA) are perfectly coordinated and can be individually adapted to changing cleaning requirements via remote service updates.

Easy operating concept

The operation of the BOHRER cleaning machines meets the latest requirements for ease of use, operator safety and full control. In addition to easy and safe access to the interior via large-format safety glass doors on both sides for cleaning and servicing, all operating data is available in a user-friendly manner on the self-explanatory, logically structured touchscreen. 

Modular machine configuration

The modular machine concept of the BOHRER container cleaning machines allows for individual equipment with optional accessories such as continuous filtration, CIP machine interior cleaning, vapour extraction, chemical dosing, container centrifugal or blower drying, etc. in addition to standard cleaning components.

Energy-efficient drive solutions

For drive and process technology, we use energy-efficient and low-maintenance components such as frequency-controlled high-efficiency servo motors, energy-efficient high-performance pumps and low-maintenance filters, as well as the latest control units from leading manufacturers. This guarantees a seamless supply of spare parts worldwide and ensures environmental friendliness and sustainability.

Process and operator safety

We give the highest priority to the most extensive occupational safety during maintenance, cleaning and machine operation, starting with the design and automation software. For example, access from outside is not possible while the cleaning process is running. Intensive test runs at our factory and on-site operator training ensure the highest possible process and operator safety.

Turbulent soaking bath

The heat-insulated container soaking tank with continuous hot caustic flow, automatic bath filtration and self-cleaning immersion floor is, in our experience, the best and most gentle solution for gentle crate soaking before thorough intensive cleaning.

Quick emptying of floor sludge

In order to extend the lye service life and to make the machine cleaning as easy as possible, a patented continuously operating floor sludge emptying unit is installed in every immersion bath. 

Width-adjustable upward turning unit with clamping jaws

For machines with several cleaning levels, the crates are gently and securely guided by gripper chain upward turning units. These can be conveniently adjusted manually outside the machine or by motor for different crate formats.

High-pressure spray nozzle system

After the pre-soak, stubborn dirt, labels, barcodes, price labels or stickers are safely removed from the inside and outside of the container by a special high-pressure unit with adjustable high-pressure spray nozzles.

Individually adjustable clip spray nozzles

The hand-adjustable patented clip spray nozzles distribute the spray water evenly from all sides and can be individually adjusted without tools to thoroughly clean compartments and dirt corners.

High-tech lye permanent filtration

The permanent cleaning of the process lye from solid and suspended matter is carried out sustainably and in an environmentally friendly manner using high-tech stainless steel filters, even during automatic backwashing.

Energy-saving centrifugal drying

The innovative BOHRER centrifugal high-performance drying system works extremely quietly, with only approx. 2-3 g of container residual moisture (E1, E2 and E3 crates), and with up to 90% energy savings compared to conventional blower drying. 

Retained water blow-off

Here we offer an integrated or external downstream retained water blow-off unit with frequency-controlled drive and high-performance blower with air nozzles that can be individually adjusted to the container.

Continuous dirt discharge

Dirt in the immersion bath, such as labels, stickers and broken glass, is automatically removed from the machine by a cyclically running, durable plastic filter belt and can be disposed of manually or via a collection container (shard carriage).

Container-friendly crate transport

In addition to cleanliness, the crate protection has top priority in the cleaning process. We use high-quality stainless steel slat chains for straight transport and upward turns with rubber-coated clamping jaws for multiple cleaning levels. 

Hygienic crate transport path

Our special stainless steel transport path in our washing machines is specially designed for fast manual and automatic CIP cleaning with largely open side walls.

Side faces brush station

Depending on the degree of soiling, our modular machine system makes it possible to integrate an additional brush station for cleaning the sides of the crates on both sides to remove coarse dirt and stubborn labels and stickers.

Service-friendly inner space of the machine

Thanks to the clear BOHRER-typical interior design with a well-organised installation of pipes and transport equipment and helpful LED flood interior lighting, cleaning and servicing work can be carried out quickly, easily and safely.

Maintenance and service doors on both sides

For easy, fast and safe access to the interior of the machine for cleaning and maintenance, as well as for visual inspection of the cleaning process, our machines are equipped with large safety glass doors on both sides with access security devices. 

Maintenance-optimised technical rooms

To make maintenance and repair work as easy as possible, all units such as pumps, motors, sensors and filters are installed in the machines in spacious technical rooms. Large, gas spring-supported swing doors allow easy access without reaching into the machine.

Clean in Place – automatic CIP machine cleaning

Extensive automation is one of our core competencies. Our patented, automatic CIP internal machine cleaning makes a significant contribution to this. Cleaning agents, pressure, temperature and cleaning time can be configured individually via the process control system of the machine.

High-performance vapour extraction

To keep the humidity in the wet area of the plant as low as possible, we can install high-performance vapour fans on the machine inlet and outlet if required. The exhaust air piping is individually adapted to the local conditions.
